Hire electric and mountain bikes
The Lake District National Park Authority has set up and built partnerships to make bike hire locations available across the National Park. Available to hire are mountain bikes and on-and-off road electric bikes in different sizes. Hire a bike for a half, full or multiple days. With some route suggestions along quieter tracks and off-road routes, you can enjoy spectacular views!
Where to ride your bike
We’ve suggested routes at each of our bike hire locations and on our cycle routes website page. Download OS Maps App on your mobile phone to track progress on route as you go along. Our routes take you on quiet roads and traffic-free tracks and are suited to our electric and mountain bikes.
The app is free to download and register an account with and can be used on desktop and mobile.
Suggested times here are based on average cycling speeds, but of course, give yourself a bit longer to enjoy the views and refuel.
Cycle routes
Road cyclists and mountain bikers are spoilt for choice in the Lake District National Park. There are a range of country lanes, permitted cycleways and bridleways to suit all experience levels, and you can be sure of fantastic views along the way!
