Miles Without Stiles

50 easy-access routes suitable for those with limited mobility, wheelchairs, tampers, pushchairs, visual impairments, young children and legs that need care. Routes have no stiles and are graded for some, many or all with descriptions on length, terrain, path type and facilities.

Information Centres

We run National Park Information Centres, with knowledgeable local staff who can help you with advice on places to visit and the facilities you may need.

Changing places and accessible toilets

There are Changing Places in the Lake District at Silecroft, Ravenglass, Fell Foot and Rheged. They are also located in many towns around the national park boundary. See a full up to date list of locations and facilities on the Visit Lake District website.

All terrain mobility scooter hire

You can hire an all terrain mobility scooter at a number of locations including Whinlatter and Grizedale Forests, Sizergh Castle and Brockhole.

Adventure for all, residential and day activity centres

Anyone Can

Anyone Can runs adventure days for all, for wheelchair users to those with additional needs With 50 years combined experience and specially adapted equipment – an authentic outdoor experience with activities include caving, climbing, canoeing and sailing. Calvert Trust

Calvert Trust enables children, adults, families and groups with disabilities to enjoy activities in the Lake District. From boating and zip wiring, to ghyll scrambling, horse riding and wheelchair challenge courses. Visit the Calvert Trust website for more information.

Bendrigg Trust – Outdoor Adventures for Disabled People

Bendrigg Trust runs activity days and residential courses for disabled and disadvantaged people and courses for organisations, schools and groups year-round.
