Let's talk about flexible working

Flexible working options include reduced and compressed hours and can be temporary or permanent. Or you can change your start and finish times if you have other commitments.

Many of our staff also enjoy hybrid working, so they can chose to balance working from home with our office bases in the Lake District. What’s more, you’ll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network if your post is a hybrid role.

Diversity and inclusion

As an equal opportunities employer, the Lake District National Park Authority is committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees and does not condone discrimination based on age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.

We’re also proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (opens new website). We guarantee an interview to any applicant with a disability who meets the minimum criteria for the role. This means your application must show evidence that you meet the required level of competence for each essential criterion, as well as any qualifications, skills, or experience listed as essential.

Please contact the People team at people.team@lakedistrict.gov.uk (opens email) for any advice or assistance.

Our commitment to inclusivity and transparency

The Lake District National Park Authority is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace that supports individual growth and ensures fair outcomes for all staff.

We are committed to addressing these disparities and fostering equality at every level. And that’s why we publish our Gender Pay Gap data. This compares the average hourly pay of men and women across the organisation—not equal pay for the same role. Factors such as a higher proportion of men in senior positions can influence the gap.

We remain committed to addressing these disparities and fostering equality at every level.

View our latest Gender Pay Gap Report 2024/2025 (PDF) and learn how we’re working to create a fair and inclusive future.
