Recharge in Nature
Celebrating farming and nature together
In 2025, 23 football pitches worth of hay meadows were restored in the Lake District thanks to the Recharge in Nature Project. The project helped enhance biodiversity on farmland across the region, following the traditional farming calendar for these fields.
Historic barn restoration
Breathing new life into traditional buildings
The collaborative Historic Building Restoration Grant Pilot aimed to revive agricultural buildings in five UK National Parks by restoring them for continued agricultural use. Restoration was carried out using traditional methods and materials, enhancing the landscape for public enjoyment and providing habitats for wildlife.
Delivering farming, forestry, nature recovery and climate together
The Lake District National Park Partnership is working in collaboration with farmers and land managers across the National Park to deliver nature recovery and climate resilience projects while supporting the continuation of farming and forestry and conservation of cultural heritage.
