Car park permits

If you’re a regular visitor or a local resident, a car park permit offers a convenient and cost-effective way to park in our National Park car parks.

While we manage many car parks across the National Park, others are run by different providers with additional free parking in more remote areas.

We manage car parks around the National Park, as do the National Trust, local councils and private car parking operators. There are also free smaller car parks in more remote areas. Check details and locations on all main car parks around the Lake District.

This page provides everything you need to know about car park permits, Blue Badge parking, and penalty payments or appeals. For a full list of car park locations, check our Lake District car parks page. Every parking fee helps support the conservation of this stunning landscape for future generations.
