Gatescarth Pass 4x4 permits available

Thank you for your patience following the closure of the bridge over Gatescarth Beck (located immediately beyond Mardale Head Car Park onto Gatescarth Pass) which has meant that 4x4’s have been unable to drive the Pass for the majority of 2026. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. It is hoped that installation of a replacement bridge will be complete for the start of the 2027 season for 4x4’s (April). We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
