Business Part One

1. 1. Apologies – To receive and record apologies from members of the Authority who cannot attend.
   2. Minutes – To confirm the Minutes of the meeting held on 25 June 2025.
   3. Chair’s Announcements
      The Chair to announce to all attendees –
      • the fire safety instructions; and
      • the meeting is being livestreamed and a digital recording of the meeting is made.
   4. Declarations of Interest – Members should declare any registrable interests or disclosable pecuniary interests and state the nature of those interests so it can be recorded in the minutes.  These interests are described in the Code of Conduct adopted by the Authority on 20 October 2021.
   5. Questions – To answer any questions raised under Standing Order 16(2) relating to the business of the Authority.
   6. Public Participation – There are no public questions, petitions or deputations relating to the business of the Authority for this meeting.
   7. Appointment of Members –

Secretary of State Appointees –

To report the appointment of Ms Jacqueline Lancaster, a member of Duddon Parish Council, as the Secretary of State (Parish Council) representative to fill the vacant South Distinctive Area position.

To report the appointment of Mr Mark Hatton as a Secretary of State (National) Member to fill one of the two vacant positions.

To provide an update on the Secretary of State (National) vacancy.

1. 1. Chief Executive’s Update
   2. National Parks England – Minutes are enclosed of the Board meeting held on 8 April 2025.
   3. Lake District National Park Partnership –  Summary notes are enclosed of the meeting held on 26 June 2025 and the draft summary notes of the meeting held on 19 August 2025.
   4. Minutes of Committees
      To consider the minutes of the following committee and the recommendations which they contain:
      1. Resources Committee: Mr Jackson will present the minutes of the meeting held on 5 June 2025;
      2. Park Strategy and Vision Committee: Mr Walter will present the minutes of the meetings held on 10 June 2025 and 7 August 2025;
      3. Governance Committee: Ms Drake will present the minutes of the meeting held on 16 April 2025;
      4. Development Control Committee: Mr Kidd will present the minutes of the meetings held on 4 June 2025, 2 July 2025 and 6 August 2025, and;
      5. Rights of Way Committee: Ms Mosner will present the minutes of the meeting held on 8 April 2025.
   5. Member Representation on Outside Bodies and Partnerships
      To receive verbal updates from Members on meetings attended as the Authority’s representative.
   6. Appointment of Members to Serve on Committees
   7. Revised Authority Handbook
   8. Finance Report: 2024/25 out-turn including Prudential and Treasury Indicators

The Committee will consider the following RESOLUTION:

Under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items.  This is because exempt information, as defined in Schedule 12A of the Act, may be disclosed during discussions.
