Julia started her career in SE Asia as an environmental economist in National Parks and later returned to Cumbria qualifying as an agricultural valuer. With a PhD in Law, Julia specialises in negotiating multi-party stewardship agreements improving outcomes from common land. Julia was a Board Member of Natural England from 2014-2019.
Julia is well versed in the economics of Upland and Hill Farming and landlord-tenant issues. She has good relations with the Rural Payment Agency and DEFRA and other national Non-governmental Organisations.
