Farming: Adam Day
Role:
Managing Director, The Farmer Network Ltd
Adam was brought up in a hill farming community and worked for 38 years as a Land Agent/Auctioneer mostly in Cumbria and mostly in the Lake District.
“During his career, Adam has acted as official auctioneer to the Herdwick Sheep Breeders Association, the Rough Fell Sheep Breeders Association and the Fell Pony Society, being three indigenous species to Cumbria.
For the last 10 years he has been Managing Director of the Farmer Network Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation supporting farmers, their families, and their businesses. The Network helps farmers to overcome challenges and to take advantage of new opportunities. He believes in the need to find the ‘sweet spot’ in rural land management, a term he has in many forums for over 5 years. This is a sensible balance between viable, sustainable farming systems which also help to improve the natural environment
