Before we make an Order we have to tell people what we intend to do and why. These Notices of Intention are published in the local press and on this website at least 7 days before the Order is made.

Westmorland and Furness Council intention to make an Order – Footpath 581041, Windermere Parish

Date of change: 25 September 2025

Westmorland and Furness Council has approved an application for the closure of a section of Footpath 581041 in Windermere, as shown on the attached location plan, for 6 months to enable the connection of a new sewerage drain to the mains sewerage.

The closure has been agreed in order to allow the above works to be carried out and shall be in effect until 10 April 2026 or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.

No alternative route has been given.
