The dramatic landscape of the Lake District has set the scene for countless films and TV series, providing a stunning backdrop of fells, lakes and cultural heritage.
When filming in the Lake District you must make sure you have the necessary permissions.
If you would like to film on public land you need to get permission from the authority that is responsible for that land. To film on public highways, you need permission from Westmorland and Furness and/or Cumberland Council. To film on private land you need to get permission from the landowner.
Would you like to film on Lake District National Park property? We own woodlands, islands, lakeshores, fells, farms and more.
The exact amount we will charge for this service depends on your application. Permissions will be subject to terms and conditions in a licence.
If the purpose of your filming is for news content please contact the communications team on comms@lakedistrict.gov.uk
