This popular route goes from Coniston Boating Centre to the village of Torver.

Route
From the Coniston Boating Centre car park head back up towards the village on Lake Road. Head over a small bridge and before the road bends back around to the right go through the gate near the trading estate. Follow the path south for about 1km, then south west for 100m until you reach Coniston Hall campsite.
Go through the splendid historic buildings of Coniston Hall then on towards the lake shore for splendid views. Follow the sign to Torver up past Hoathwaite Farm. After crossing the cattle grid turn right over the old railway bridge and continue to follow signs for Torver.
Follow the surfaced trail down under the railway bridge, through a steep sided cutting. From here the route is clear, crossing Torver Beck and through fields to bring you out at the back of the Church House Inn in Torver.
After enjoying refreshments retrace your steps back to Coniston.

Getting there:
Regular buses to Coniston from Ambleside and Windermere, all year round, 7 days a week. Services also available from Ulverston. Coniston Boating Centre is a 1km walk from the village centre.
