Director of Sustainable Development and Assistant Chief Executive

Following a decade working in economic development and regeneration within local government, Hanna joined the Lake District National Park Authority in late 2016 as a Team Leader within the Strategy and Partnerships Service. Since then, she has progressed to Head of Strategy and Rangers, a role in which she further developed her expertise through close collaboration with the Authority’s ranger teams.

In 2025, Hanna was promoted to Assistant Director of Sustainable Development and subsequently became Director of Sustainable Development and Assistant Chief Executive, providing strategic leadership to help deliver the Vision for the National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Her responsibilities include sustainable development, planning, the development and engagement of strategies and policies, including the Local Plan, communications and engagement, and management of the Lake District National Park Partnership. Hanna represents the Authority across a range of international, national and local networks.
