Home Committees Strategy Meeting

The Strategy Meeting oversees the preparation of the Local Plan, the Lake District National Park Partnership’s Management Plan, and the Vision for the Lake District National Park; considers the formulation of all policies relating to the work of the Authority, and monitors and scrutinises the interpretation, application, and effect of those policies; secures the achievement of the Authority’s statutory purposes and duties through working with the Lake District National Park Partnership and also in partnership with other local authorities, public bodies, and others, including the review and monitoring of all relevant reports, minutes and other paperwork.

This Meeting has a core membership, but all Authority Members are welcome to attend and discuss agenda items.

Meetings are not open to the press and public.

Park Strategy and Vision Committee

At Authority on 25 March 2026 members considered and made amendments to the committee structure.

The Park Strategy and Vision Committee has been replaced by the Strategy Meeting. These meetings operate as working groups. They do not make decisions and Meetings are not open to the press and public.

Any decisions previously made by the Park Strategy and Vision Committee will be made by Authority Committee and the agenda and reports for the Authority Committee will be published in the usual way.
