Steve Ratcliffe
Director of Sustainable Development
Steve leads the planning profession for the Authority. He advises on strategy and policies, facilitating the delivery of the Vision for the National Park. He’s committed to working with partners, having established the Lake District National Park Partnership. Directs Development Management, Park Management and Strategy and Partnerships during his time at the Authority.
Additional Statutory role: Monitoring Officer
I was born in North Wales and I studied and graduated as a Planner. I spent the earlier part of my career at Suffolk Coastal District Council, but moved to the Lake District in 2005.
My interests include gardening, sea kayaking and canoeing, running, and community life in Witherslack, Cumbria where I also love being a family man.
