Route

Located at the northern tip of Ullswater, Pooley Bridge is a lovely village with pubs, cafes and shops. The route takes you away from the village along the River Eamont at the foot of Dunmallard Hill. Keep an eye out for herons fishing and deer coming out of the woods for a drink as you enjoy a moment of forest bathing.

Leave the car park at its northern end and follow the level surfaced path along the edge of Dunmallard Wood to a seating area by the side of the River Eamont. Dunmallard Wood is an ancient woodland, which also has the remains of an Iron Age fort at its summit.

Sit on the benches at the end of the path and enjoy watching the local wildlife in and around the River Eamont before returning back to the car park.

Please note that mobility scooters must be class 2 or 3 on the route.
