Bowness-on-Windermere Information Centre and Café

Pop in and let us help you plan your perfect adventure.

To make the most of your visit, pop in for leaflets, guides and advice from our friendly advisers about the local area of Windermere and Ambleside and the rest of the Lake District National Park. Bowness Bay Information Centre is just opposite Windermere Lake Cruises Pier and Bowness Pier bus stop. Bus 599 runs up to every 20 minutes between Windermere station and Bowness Bay during summer months. We're here to answer your questions, help you find your way around, let you know what things you can do and how to book them, around Windermere and the rest of the Lake District.

Opening times

  • April to October: 9.30am to 5:30pm, 7 days a week.
  • November to March: 10:00am to 4.30pm, 7 days a week.
