Electric cars are a fantastic and sustainable way to get around the Lake District National Park. You can hire an electric car from our Lake District railway locations, gain access to many charging points across the area and then travel the whole National Park!

We've charging points in 8 of our car parks, in dedicated bays, where you can 'Pay as You Go' for your charge. Our chargers are provided by Pod Point, who've an app that allows you to see if the charge point is free before arrival and to Pay as you Go for your charge.
Income we receive when you use our car park charging points, helps keep our Lake District landscape special for future generations.
Located on the lakeshore of Coniston Water, with boats, kayaks, paddleboards and bikes to hire. There's the Bluebird café for a bite to eat with a view across the water.
Located at the centre of Coniston village, home of the Ruskin Museum with great places to shop and eat.
Located in the heart of Grasmere village, the perfect spot for a wander around the village, or walk up into the fells.
Located in the centre of Glenridding, just across from the lakeshore of Ullswater, this is the starting point for a classic walk to the summit of Helvellyn, or a ride on the steamer up to the lake - and walk back along some of Ullswater Way.
Located between Windermere and Ambleside, Brockhole on Windermere is the perfect family hangout with outdoor activities, watersports, boat hire, gardens with views over the lake a Kitchen Garden, café and restaurant.
Just off the A5095 at Waterhead, and just a couple of minutes to walk along the lakefront to Waterhead Pier and some of the local hostelries (Ambleside is a 30-45 minute walk from here).
In Hawkshead and near to attractions such as Hawkshead Grammar School Museum, and St Michael and All Angels Church. A great starting point for walks and traffic-free cycle routes.
Located in Ravenglass a distinct place nestled at the confluence of the Rivers Esk, Mite and Irt and a seaside location with a medieval street pattern with side lanes to ancient field system and shore.

Car club vehicles are located at Penrith Station, Oxenholme Station and Windermere Station.
Register with Co-Wheels a few days before your visit and they will send you a smart card. Book your electric car online, and use your smart card to unlock the car and drive. Return the car and get billed at the end of the month for all your hires.
