Lake District Fell Top Assessors return

The Lake District National Park’s Fell Top Assessor team return today for the 2020 winter season. They might just have one of the most socially distanced roles in the UK. Long before this year’s coronavirus pandemic the Fell Top Assessors have been used to working in solitary conditions to keep walkers safe on the fells.

There’s light in the Keswick to Threlkeld tunnel as trail reopening date is confirmed

The lights in the Keswick to Threlkeld Trail tunnel have been connected ahead of news that the trail will officially be reopened to the community on 5 December, on the fifth anniversary of Storm Desmond.
